Golden Group Roofing was recently recognized for its contributions to the 2018 Habitat for Humanity Metrowest/Greater Worcester “Women Build” Event, aimed at empowering single women by helping them attain affordable housing. Many women are struggling with single motherhood and escaping poor or unsafe living conditions, a struggle that is near and dear to the heart of Golden Group Roofing’s owner and co-founder Greta Bajrami.
Using their quality roofing expertise to contribute to safe affordable housing for young mothers was a part of Golden Group Roofing’s mission to give back to their community.
Not only did Golden Group Roofing help raise money for the overall $64,000 donated to Habitat for Humanity, the Worcester County roofing company made a cash donation for supplies and donated a whole day of volunteer labor from their crew and a new roof with 31 square feet of quality roofing materials for a multiple unit Habitat for Humanity house in Northboro, MA.
Golden Group’s volunteer crew of men and women installed a lifetime guaranteed roofing system that saved Habitat for Humanity thousands of dollars. The roofing crew also pitched in with the new flooring and siding installation. Their contribution helped several single mothers move their families into their new safe and affordable home with updated and energy efficient materials, while freeing up more family resources for food, clothing, and school supplies for their children.
Supporting organizations that help struggling families get back on their feet is just one part Golden Group Roofing’s commitment to giving back to its local communities in Worcester, Suffolk and Middlesex Counties. Since founding the Massachusetts roofing company with her husband, Ms. Bajrami serves on three different roofing boards, including the Worcester State Foundation Board, where she also serves on the Scholarship Committee and contributes to the Adopted Scholar Program.
